This is a picture book about a father and child take a nighttime walk in the woods to look for owls, and in the dark, snowy woods they find a sense of wonder. The child and father share the beauty of the snowy woods.

This is a great book for talking about imagery in writing. Students could use this book to learn how to use adjectives to make their writing more interesting and to create a picture in the readers head. This is a good book for grades 2nd through 5th.

Reading Owl Moon touches all of my senses. It reminds how important it is to use imagery in writing. It is a calm soothing book. It is a lot of fun to read it without showing the pictues.
