The Secret Knowledge of Grown up A Caldecott medal picture book

The Secret Knowledge of Grown ups written and illustrated by: David Wisniewski

This book was published by Harper Trophy in 2001.

This book is appropriate for 2nd through 5th graders. The book is about rules adults make that children don't understand. The book explains all kinds of silly reasons why these rules exist. "Eat your vegetables" is not a rule for being healthy it is a rule to keep vegetables from taking over the world!

This is a great book for teaching fantasy and creative writing. Students can write their own story for why certain rules exist.

This is a fun story and following rules. After reading this I thought about all the rules grown-ups make and how children often don't understand them.
