Garum and Vayin are "duals" twins trapped in each other's minds and bodies, sharing one life. They are being hunted by a wizard. They do not know who to turn to because in their world "duals" are hated. Everyone seems to be their enemy. They must be careful or may not live!
This book is full of descriptive language. It would make a great grammar lesson on adjectives as well as teaching reading skills such as fluency and expression.
This book is hard to follow in the beginnig, but the more you read the more you understand what the author is trying to portray in world that hates twins.

He would miss Peter. He finds a garden to explore. When the time came for Tom to go home, he wanted to stay. He had discovered a secret garden.
This book could be used by teachers to teach sequencing of events, climax, and author's purpose.
This book made me want to keep reading even though I needed to explore other books while at the library. The garden held all kinds of secrets. This book also gave insight into rebellious children.

This novel would be a great addition to any classroom. Teachers can use this novel to teach fiction writing. It also has several climax points for teaching about the structure of a story. This book would also be a good choice for teaching cause and effect.
